Rare Collections

The library initiated a project in 2012-13 to identify rare collections, including several Sanskrit books, Home Science books, and dictionaries. This work continued for a period of five years. The initiative was publicized in the newspaper Prajavani on August 27, 2012, in an article titled “Kapatinolagina Rathnagalu” (Gems in the Cupboard).

In 2020, the library received $25,000 from the Hilton Fund for Sisters, California, for a project entitled “Digitization of Rare Collections.” Currently, 644 rare books are available in digital format.
